Spring 2024 Registration Information

Registration for the 2024 season opens February 26, 2024 and closes March 18, 2024. The season will begin at the beginning of April. There will be no games on the May Long Weekend. Playoffs for ages at the end of June.

Please note a MAJOR CHANGE for this season. The oldest participants allowed in the WMBA league will now cap at 17. This means that anyone turning 18 before Dec 31st at midnight will not be eligible for this season.

Games will be played in Winnipeg. Practices are planned to begin just after spring break, during the week at local gyms in Steinbach. However, please note the following:

*The WMBA relies heavily on community use school permits for team practices. With the uncertainty of school divisions offering these permits, the WMBA Community League could look very different this upcoming season. It’s our hope that permits are issued and we can resume a typical season, however, in the event that permits are not issued we will operate with practice and games being scheduled on Saturday and Sundays only. Once we are closer to the start date, we will communicate with the community centres and our members on how the season will look.

Important info on Registration:

Cost is $200. This includes a Southeast Storm team jersey (if you do not currently own one).
We ask that you please review the Player Membership Policy prior to registration. There is a link at the bottom of the Policy page that will direct you to WMBAs central registration site (www.wmba.ca)
Upon registering please select Southeast Region to be placed on one of our club teams. (Southeast Storm is in District 5: South East Winnipeg.)
We will build teams out of local players if we can, but players may need to transfer to Winnipeg clubs if there are not enough players for an age group.
The maximum allowable players on a team is 12.
Registration for teams is on a first come – first registered basis.
Southeast Storm relies on community volunteers to coach and we hope you consider being a part of the team!
